Lead occurs in soil, air and water and hence it is present in Many agricultural produce. Since many packaged food products commonly have ingredients of agricultural origin, there could be some traces of lead which occur naturally in these ingredients.
The Food Safety regulatory authorities have specified maximum permissible limits for lead across a variety of food products. These limits are extremely stringent and well within the limits considered safe for the human body. For example, Sugar and Sugar syrups have a prescribed limit of lead which is double that for Instant Noodles. Turmeric powder (Haldi) & Tea have a prescribed limit which is four times that for Instant Noodles.

Monosodium Glutamate is a permitted additive under Indian law in many foods. It is a flavour enhancer and is just one of many forms of Glutamates. Due to its ingredients (via wheat flour, vegetables etc), testing may show a presence of naturally-occurring glutamate in Instant Noodles.

All these vendor suppliers have quality systems which are in compliance with the requirements of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). Each consignment received is supported by a COA (Certificate of Analysis) and further tested on receipt through comprehensive testing for all contaminants. The same materials are also periodically checked at our laboratories in Life Sciences and Technology Centre, Peenya, Bengaluru.
